SaaS Strategists,
First off, I have a very important announcement.
SaaS Strats just got a brand new refresh! 🍹
I had this idea of how I'd like the landing page of SaaS Strats to look for a while, but never found the time to do so.
Claude Code & Codex finally brought it to life in 2 days. Which is absolutely wild. 🤯
Feel free to check the new look on saasstrats.com!
And while on the topic of Claude Code, let’s dive right into today’s issue.👇
A cardiologist just won a coding hackathon. 🩺
Writing code is no longer the issue.
Understanding the audience’s niche pain point is, and will never go out of fashion.

A year ago, these people couldn't ship a landing page. Now they're winning hackathons against actual developers.
This is the clearest sign yet that coding is no longer a gated skill. The barrier to entry just disappeared.
However, there’s one secret ingredient you’re missing:
Trust. 🤝
Without it, you’re just another random vibe coder who shipped slop into production with 0 customers.
If you really want to make great products - get out in the public and talk about who you are, what you do, and what you’re building. 🛠️
People still trust people, not products.
Ahrefs just opened their API to vibe coders. 🔓
CMO of Ahrefs just made a brilliant marketing play. 🧩
He introduced API access to every single paid Ahrefs plan.

Why this is brilliant:
Right now, thousands of non-technical founders, marketers, and solo builders are vibe coding their own internal tools. 🧑💻
SEO dashboards, content planners, keyword trackers, competitor monitors, you name it.
They will all now default to Ahrefs when they need a 3rd party keyword service injected into their tool. 💉
It’s an amazing play on market capture.
Ahrefs understands that their platform is probably going to get more usage through API than the platform itself.
APIs are going to become a more tempting option than a UI as more & more people start building their internal tools using AI.
Simply because they can fit it exactly to their use case.
The ones who have better APIs & documentations will win.
I shared a full blueprint on how to become agent-ready in my previous issue. Check it out here:
OpenAI secured the bag. Anthropic secured something better. 🤝
You’re probably familiar with the whole Anthropic / OpenAI & Department of War situation that happened 2 weeks ago.
Essentially, Anthropic backed out of a deal because they didn’t want to allow the US government to use Claude for mass surveillance and military use.
OpenAI supported them, but by the night was over, they changed their mind.
This triggered a massive switch from ChatGPT to Claude.

Even my tweet blew up lol.
Now, Anthropic is not really a flower in the sand here.
But I respect that they showed an attitude regarding this topic.
It earned them a fair share of new customers and most importantly, they earned more trust.
You can read Dario Amodei’s (Anthropic CEO) full statement on this topic here.
I’ll catch you in the next one.
Until then, start building APIs. 🫡
